The Population Health Analytics Lab is undertaking a novel study in collaboration with Dr. Birsen Donmez from the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, to enable the use of predictive models for health system planning. This study uses a human factors engineering approach which engages the end-user in the design of technology to develop systems, processes, and interfaces that support human performance and decision making.
We are currently recruiting public health professionals and stakeholders to provide insight on their experiences with decision-making tools. This will help us design a user interface that effectively meets users’ needs to inform population health planning and decision making. This information will be applied to the development of a user-friendly interface for public health to effectively use the recently developed and validated the Chronic Disease Population Risk Tool (CDPoRT), a tool for predicting future incidence of chronic diseases in the population.
If you are a public health professional or health system decision maker and would like to participate in the first phase of our study, completing a brief survey and participating in a small focus group, please read the Letter of Information and Consent and register here.
