The Population Health Analytics Laboratory, in partnership with Esri Canada, has launched a new Canadian Community Flourishing Dashboard, giving residents, policymakers, and local organizations fresh insight into the health and wellbeing of Canadian communities.

Community Flourishing refers to the wellbeing of people as they live and experience life together. Flourishing communities are key to supporting thriving communities by promoting wellbeing across social, emotional and material dimensions.

This interactive tool highlights data from the National Community Flourishing Survey, a cross-sectional survey that collects information across multiple domains of community flourishing. The tool looks at six key areas of flourishing across Canadian provinces:

    • Social
    • Economic
    • Environmental
    • Cultural
    • Political
    • Health

Currently, the Canadian Community Flourishing Dashboard includes data from the first wave of the survey, which was conducted in December 2023. A subsequent wave of the survey will be conducted in the fall of 2025.

The dashboard will be updated regularly and is free to access online. Residents are encouraged to explore and use the tool to help shape local initiatives that build a flourishing future for all.

This initiative was supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (FRN 72066937).
