Doctoral Student
Ijeoma is a doctoral student in Epidemiology at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto and is co-supervised by Dr. Laura Rosella and Dr. Karen Tu. She received her medical training from the University of Port-Harcourt, Nigeria, obtained a Master of Public Health degree from Johns Hopkins University, USA, and completed a residency and fellowship in Community Health and Preventive Medicine from the West African College of Physicians. She brings a wealth of experience in clinical medicine and implementation science and has implemented large-scale research projects in Nigeria. Ijeoma is interested in the primary prevention of non-communicable diseases to improve population health. For her research, she will use machine learning and causal inference methods to examine the risk of multimorbidity that is attributable to asthma and predict multimorbidity among adults in primary care.
